The Face of AMERICA - Mountain Picnic! They call the hills hereabouts the Boston Mountains, but don't let the name fool you. This is Newton County, Arkansas, deep in the Ozarks. And besides, where in Boston could you find a golden-brown roast turkey stuffed with Cap Nelson's special giblet dressing? That's Cap doing the carving. The other dishes include chicken and dumplings, baked brown beans and mashed potato salad. At left is Grandma Raney, who admits to being over 80. Any resemblance to Grandma Moses is doubly coincidental. For those people are members and gueats of the Ozark Writers and Artists Guild, gathered for a midsummer picnic dinner. This land no longer is the exclusive domain of squirrel hunters and moonshiners - if it ever was. Today the intellectual life flourishes all across the changing face of America.
