Question #14:
Most of Americas woes revolves around the economy and the loss of Jobs.. while many of you would like to blame the president who has been in office for only a couple of years... You miss the larger point.
as an example
The CEO's of the companies that had the most layoffs had the largest bonus increases.. and we aren't talking chump change we're talking Millions upon millions
4 times what they earned in the 80's 3000 times as much as the lowest paid workers in the corporations...
That's only one example.. this thinking runs across the gambit of business in the US.. Fronted first and foremost by the Banks and The Insurance providers.. who manufacture nothing, only hold 10% of what they actually lend out and price fix and collude constantly.
And yet if you breath "Regulation" the Tea Party folks and their ilk get all "tweaky"... it's like
"So what if they're raping my daughter, It's a free market"
Why is that? What makes you folks so loyal to the people stealing your lives?
Question #15:
I've been on 3 dates with a guy that I really like. We went to high school together, but never spoke much in school. It's been 9 years since graduation and we've gotten back in touch. His birthday is today, and he's taking me out on a date on Friday. His best friend is someone I went to school with, so I asked her about any suggestions for a gift for him. She suggested a gift card for his favorite store, World Market. So I'm going to go ahead and get that, but I'm a little stumped at the amount. I'm a single parent and things are tight money wise around here, but $25 seems a bit cheap, and $50 is out of my range right now. Is $35 an appropriate amount or is that kind of an oddball amount?
Question #16:
I was wondering if they sell healthy candy (specifically hard candy you suck on) see I have this nervous thing where I grind my teeth and so I figure if I have something to suck on it will keep my teeth from grinding.
Why I am asking about Asian/Japanese candy is because I live close to this Asian Market and I know that Asia is famous for stuff like Green Tea candy or hard candies made with tea and herbs and stuff (had the green tea once, wasnt bad) my question is do they sell any kind of candy made from tea or something healthy like that because I really don't want to rot my teeth away if I plan on making this an everyday thing.
Question #17:

Question #19:
For me, it would have to be the Toyota Prius. Apart from the fact that it's miserable to drive (soggy brakes, inert steering, a weird sense of understeer) it is nowhere near as green as its buyers like to think. All the mining and processing involved in its production gives it the same carbon footprint as a Land Rover LR2 V8 after having accomplished 150,000 miles. Neodymium, used in its motor/generator, nickel, batteries and Lithium, batteries and varied electronics components are very messy to gain. To mine them involves either breaking down a mountain over time or drilling a giant hole in the ground. To process them involves transporting them over tens of thousands of miles. After which, they invariably land in China for final processing thanks to the fact that the final step prior to installation is so toxic that the People's Republic is the only place on Earth that allows it. If you want to be green, just buy a smaller, more efficient car that doesn't scream how much more environmentally aware you are than everyone else.
@ JerryJ
1,) My company leased five for fleet work and we are very glad to have gotten rid of them as our reps hated them as they drove terribly.
2,) The research that you are referencing is a faulty study conducted by the Center for American Progress. I am speaking about one done by the University of Oxford Brookes, Cambridge. It used current data. Furthermore, while the Sudbury mine is cleaner than it once was it is still a matter of comparing rabies to scurvey, it is still a messy process. Also, that mine is no longer the world's largest source of Nickel, Russia is. Their standards are significantly lower Canada's.Toyota has been purchasing much (40+%) of their nickel from them. Lithium, is also a toxic process as it is found at a lower depth and is harder to refine, despite being more recyclable.
3,) Parts coming from China isn't the issue. Their toxic, exotic manufacture is.
Pull your head out of the blogosphere and get YOUR facts straight.
Question #20:
Hi, I am 19 yrs old and have suffered from mild-moderate acne for about 5 years now. I have literally tried every product on the market, and as usual, it has just made my skin worse and oilier. so last month I decided to stop using products all together, I don't use anything on my face now and let the skin breathe for once/
On youtube there is this girl named natasha who claims that she has totally vanished her acne by starting the raw food diet (she's 34!!) She's been eating 100% organic raw food for about a year now and her skin looks flawless. Her channel is "RawRadiantHealth"
I want to know whether I can achieve that skin by eating 85% raw food, and 15% other fats like salomon or everyday fresh cooked meals. I mean I can't live on veggies and fruits forever, I'd lose crazy amount of weight and I am already skinny enough.
For my cooked food, I eat:
- small portions of basmati rice mixed with lima beans/green beans
- salmon (baked or steamed)
- chickpeas (boiled)
- boiled/baked potatoes
Is that okay, I mean I researched basmati rice to be gluten free.
For vegetarian: I drink at least 4 glasses of those green smoothies, alongside 2 plates of salads, and fruits for breakfast
thank you
